There is a railway station nearby, and you can take a ride through the countryside, stopping at various locations along the way. There is plenty of great shopping to be found here, and if you are worried about missing your church services while on vacation, don't, because there are religious services available throughout Mijas Costa.
If it is groceries you need, you do not even have to leave the resort, because there is an on-site supermarket as well as the Mini-Market. You should also visit the Street Market in Fuengirola.
